2nd-half effort gives Lourdes win

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Trailing by six points at the break, Lourdes University men's basketball team rallied, taking the lead for good midway through the second half on the way to a 58-53 victory over Aquinas on Tuesday night.

With the victory, Lourdes (16-7, 11-5) has moved into a three-way tie for second place in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference standings along with Madonna and Indiana Tech.

“We made some good adjustments at halftime and buckled down defensively in the second half,” coach Andre Smith said. “It’s another big road win for us, and it came down to playing good defense yet again.”

Ken Smith led the way for Lourdes off of the bench with 12 points while Corey Harvey added 11.

Alex Davis tallied 10 points to give the Gray Wolves three double-digit scorers.

The Gray Wolves bench outscored Aquinas’ 23-3.
