Construction workers demolished Fire Station No. 1 near downtown Sylvania on April 3, 2013. The station, originally built in 1930, is being replaced with a 9,000 square foot building that will sleep 10 firemen. The previous building slept five. Firefighters are stationed at a home on Brint Road until November 1, when the new station will be completed.
