Franciscan Village seeks hygiene items for needy

BLADE STAFF AND NEWS SERVICES

Sylvania Franciscan Village has inaugurated a “Have a Heart Re-Stock Drive” to provide hygiene items to six local charities.

Starting Monday and continuing through Feb. 9, the Sylvania Franciscan Village will be collecting hygiene items such as deodorant, shampoo and conditioner, soap, toilet paper, and toothpaste to be distributed to the six charities: Bethany House, Helping Hands of St. Louis, Sylvania Area Family Services, the Claver House, Our Lady of Lourdes Hospitality Kitchen, and Assumption Outreach Center.

“We hope to make this outreach effort an annual event, because the Franciscan Village is committed to finding ways to use our many resources for the benefit of the community,” said Sister Janet Doyle, a Sylvania Franciscan nun and administrator of Sylvania Franciscan Village.

Items may be dropped off at 26 Sylvania locations. More information is available online at sylvaniafranciscanvillage.orgor by calling 419-824-3533.
