A Sylvania Township house sustained extensive damage when fire broke out at dawn Sunday, the township fire department reported.
Township police said the fire call for 5912 Artwell Dr. came in at 5:30 a.m. and firefighters arrived eight minutes later to a “fully involved” fire. The family was not home at the time, officials said.
Firefighters remained on scene about four hours, and the investigation continued later Sunday.
No formal damage estimate was released, but a township dispatcher said the house was “pretty badly damaged.”
According to county land records, the property belongs to Thomas and Barbara McNett and was last assessed at $46,500. The house was built in 1922.
