Multiple injuries in eastbound I-475 crash

Four people were injured late Thursday in a five-vehicle car crash on eastbound I-475 near Holland-Sylvania, the Sylvania Township Police Department confirmed.

The collision occurred at about 5:35 pm, just east of the U.S. 23 junction. A Sylvania Township Police Department dispatcher said three victims were taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, and a fourth drove to St. Luke's Hospital to obtain treatment. 

Traffic was reported to be heavy in the area. Names and ages of those involved were not available, although police radio communications indicated children were involved.
