After two straight appearances in the NAIA Division II national tournament, the Lourdes University men's basketball team looks to reload as the Gray Wolves take to the court for the 2013-2014 season.
Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Coach of the Year Andre Smith returns for his fourth season at the helm of the Gray Wolves, coming off of a 22-10 record overall and a 16-6 mark in the WHAC.
Lourdes returns seven players from last year's team including WHAC All-Defensive Team selection Elvin Butler, who will serve as a captain along with Jake DuPree.
DuPree led the Gray Wolves with nearly two assists per game at the point guard spot before suffering a season-ending injury just before postseason play began. A redshirt-junior, he also recorded nearly two steals a game.

Eric Worthey will return to the court for the first time since the 2011-2012 season after sitting out last season as a redshirt. He averaged 7.9 points and 5.4 rebounds per game as a junior and will look to add a spark to the Gray Wolves' offense.
Ron Dukes, Jerome Talton, and Jerah'me Williams all came off of the bench for Lourdes one year ago and will look for a bigger role this season. Dukes and Talton are seniors this year while Williams played in 10 games for the Gray Wolves as a freshman last year.
Coach Smith has brought in a host of newcomers to help supplement the roster this year, and will look to several to provide key contributions. Isiah Boddie arrives from Lakeland Community College and will see some action at the point while Zach Steinmetz will see his first collegiate action since leaving the Bowling Green State University football team.
Nick Robertson and Reginald Martin will both battle for time in the post. Robertson is a junior transfer from Cincinnati State Community College while Martin will play his final collegiate season after arriving at Lourdes from Benedict College.
The 2013-2014 season tips off Oct. 29, when the Gray Wolves travel to Grand Rapids, Mich. to battle Kuyper College. This year's home opener, also the WHAC opener, is on Nov. 16 against Lawrence Tech.
