Cyber Parent Night set Oct. 16 at Sylvan Elementary

SYLVANIA SCHOOLS

Sylvan Elementary School is hosting a Cyber Parent Night at 6 p.m. Oct. 16, which is open to parents across the Sylvania School District.

Sylvania Police Sgt. Justin Music will present information to parents on how to see and know what your child or children reviewing online. He will also talk about legal responsibilities of parents related to the internet, and provide prevention and anti-bullying tactics.

Forty-two percent of children have been bullied online and one of every four have had it happen more than once, according to DoSomething.org, which tracks such information.

The Sylvan Elementary informational session is open to all Sylvania parents, guardians, grandparents, and other relatives or friends with interest in this topic.

For information, contact school counselor Pam Bennett at 419-824-8615 or 419-824-8616.
