12 officers, 4 civilians recognized by Sylvania Police Division

The Sylvania Police Division honored local police officers and civilians Tuesday, in keeping with 27 years of tradition.

At the ceremony, the department recognized the efforts of outstanding officers and citizens who have helped to ensure the safety of the Sylvania community. Twelve Sylvania officers received awards for excellence in service and exceptional job performance. Four citizens also were honored for the valuable assistance they rendered to the police and community.

The City of Sylvania Police Division Special Response Team, along with teams from Sylvania Township, the City of Toledo, and the City of Maumee, also were honored for the response during a critical incident in May, 2011.
