Come and see what the Mothers’ Center of Greater Toledo is all about at the group’s annual open house Sept. 13 from 9:45 to 11:15 a.m. at McCord Road Christian Church, 4675 N. McCord Rd. in Sylvania.
The free open house will feature women and children’s health advocate Michelle Rowe.
As a Sylvania mother of three, Rowe strives to inspire a healthy lifestyle with helpful tips and tricks for families and mothers on the go. She currently works for Mercy as a health educator and community outreach manager. Her monthly column “Always Healthy Mom” appears in the Toledo Area Parent magazine, and she regularly appears on 13abc Ask the Expert.
“I love talking to women about the balance of motherhood and their health and wellness,” said Rowe. “I have heard so many great things about the Mothers’ Center of Greater Toledo and am honored to have the opportunity to share my passion for women's health with them.”
Snacks, giveaways and childcare will also be available while the mothers mingle.
The Mothers’ Center is a non-profit organization established in 1984 by mothers, for mothers and their families. The group meets each Thursday to share common experiences, make new friends and enjoy the company of peers while the children are supervised by experienced childcare workers.
In addition, the group offers playgroups, a book club, evening gatherings for working mothers and many family activities. The group is not affiliated with McCord Road Christian Church or any other church or religion.
