Miss Barb's Music Studio of Sylvania Township is celebrating 15 years of magical, Kindermusik adventures with young children.

Kindermusik is the premier music and movement program designed for children ages newborn through seven years. Kindermusik fosters every domain of your child’s development including social skills, pre-math, language skills, and literacy.

Barbara Steenrod, M.M. M.T., director of Miss Barb's Music Studio Inc. and Kindermusik Maestro, earned a master's degree in Music Therapy from Western Michigan University. Miss Barb holds Master Teacher certification from the Kindermusik certification board in recognition of her outstanding achievement.

Her experience as a music therapist has been instrumental in developing her strong conviction of the importance of music in children's lives.

Miss Barb has additional teaching experience at the collegiate level at Lourdes College where she was honored as Outstanding Teacher of the Year. She also has received a Shining Star Award in Children's Enrichment from the Toledo Association for the Education of Young Children. In addition to her experience as a Kindermusik educator, Miss Barb is dedicated to teaching piano to students from the beginning through intermediate levels.

The studio's dedicated educators are all licensed Kindermusik educators, who hold degrees in music education, music therapy, early childhood education or a related field.

Fall classes start the week of Sept. 10.
