Swimmers from Sylvania Tsunami Swim Club competed this past weekend at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio at the Ohio Junior Olympics Long Course Swim Meet.
Swimmers qualify for individual and relay events based on time standards set by Ohio Swimming/USA Swimming. The swimmers competed during the long course season, which runs from late May through mid-July. They also train during the short-course season, which runs mid-September through mid-February.
Short course meets run in a 25-yard pool while long course meets run in a 50-meter pool (like the Olympics). All practices take place at Northview High School and include swimmers from Sylvania and the surrounding areas.
