Second movie on the streets night in Sylvania is July 12

SYLVANIA AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

The second downtown movie on the streets event this summer in Sylvania is July 12.

The movie name hasn’t been disclosed because of licensing restrictions, but the Sylvania Area Chamber of Commerce says the stars are small and blue.

The chamber and Mercy St. Anne Hospital are hosting the annual “Hooray School is Done” movie nights. The films are shown on screens set up on Main Street near Maplewood. The street will be closed and businesses will be open with activities for young and old.

The movie is shown at about 8:15 p.m. but all the activities run from 6 to 10 p.m.

Families are encouraged to bring outdoor chairs. Included will be children’s activities, refreshments, entertainment, and a chance to celebrate the beginning of summer vacation. Several downtown businesses plan to stay open.

The first movie of the summer, Happy Feet 2, was shown June 14.

Besides Mercy St. Anne, the event’s sponsors are Fifth Third Bank, Dave White Chevrolet, The Blade, 93.5 WRQN, and Stage-it Productions.
