Northview relay team finishes 11th in national competition

The Northview High School girls 3200-meter relay team of Janelle Noe, Abby Masters, Mallory Small, and Alison Work raced to an 11th place finish in the time of 9:16.23 in the New Balance National Scholastic Sports Foundation Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The race was held Friday at Aggie Stadium in Greensboro, N.C.
To qualify for the race, the team had to post a 9:26 time in the 2012 season. This team ran its best time of 9:08.52 at the Ohio High School State Outdoor Track and Field Championships on June 1 in Columbus.
Janelle Noe raced her first ever 400-meter hurdles in the Emerging Elite National race and placed ninth in 1.04.49. To qualify for this race Janelle had to post a time of 46.8 or better in the 300 hurdles outdoor season. Janelle's best time of the season was 44.68 at the regional meet on May 25.
Alison Work placed 18th with a time of 2:15.43 in the championship 800-meter race. To qualify for this race Alison had to post a 2:13 or better in her outdoor track season. Alison's best 800 time was a 2:12.59 ran at the district meet on May 19.
