Southview student signs with Division I school

It was was a historic day for Southview High School, as its first female athlete signed yesterday with a Division I school.

Lexie Lopez has signed to play women’s basketball with the St. Louis University Billikens next fall. Lexi will begin practice in the spring under coach Lisa Stone.

Tim Nottke and Stew Carr coached Ms. Lopez through high school along with Duffy Burns from AAU.

Jessica Knepper, Southview senior, signed to play softball at Hillsdale College chargers in Michigan. She was all NLL & all-district player in 2011 and 2012. She also received an Honorable Mention All State 2012. Jim Zoltowski coached Ms. Knepper and the Southview softball team.
