Forty-two “at-risk” children in Adelante Inc. summer programs will be able to go to a free week of soccer camp at Pacesetter Park in Sylvania Township next week.

The program is the result of Adelante Inc., the Latino & Community Resource Center, which has partnered with Pacesetter Soccer Club. The day soccer camp is valued at $3,570, Adelante said.

The camp runs Monday through Friday. Pacesetter is providing free instruction on soccer skills and the club has donated gently-used soccer equipment to the program participants, Adelante said.

The Pacesetter Soccer Club has boys and girls teams of many ages that play competitive soccer.

Adelante’s youth division provides summer programming to children in grades 3 through 12 for eight weeks. Programs provide youth with academic tutoring, life skills, job skills, college preparation, drug prevention, adership, and community service experiences. The children are transported to programs and provided free lunches at the YMCA.
