Program to explore cancer risks, genetic tests

A film and discussion about hereditary cancer risks and genetic testing will be presented from 5 to 8 p.m. May 14 in the Franciscan Center at Lourdes University. The documentary film, The Family, is about predicting breast and ovarian cancer; it follows women who weigh the pros and cons that genetic testing will have on their lives.

Speaking after the film will be Anita Antoniolli, a surgeon, and Kelly Morse, a genetic counselor.

In addition, dinner will be served and there will be a cash bar. Presented by Promedica, the event is free but registration is requested by Wednesday at 1-877-291-1441.

Lourdes University is at 6832 Convent Blvd. in Sylvania.
