St. Joseph kicks off Catholic Schools' Week this week

St. Joseph School Sylvania plans to celebrate Catholic education with Catholic Schools' Week.

The week beings with registration for the 2013-14 school year at the preschool open house on Sunday. Registration continues until March 3 when the school will host it's elementary and middle school open houses.

The seventh grade science fair will be held Tuesday in the Father Wurzel Family Center on the middle school campus. Students will present science projects they have created and and working on since September. Judging begins at 7 p.m.

Wednesday marks the 100th day of school and Math-A-Rama Day. Students will begin the day with an all-school mass and continue with special activities and treats with a focus on the number 100.

The day also marks the conclusion of service projects for Central City Ministry Schools. A collection of 100 items in every grade will go to benefit students of Rosary Cathedral and Queen of Apostles in downtown Toledo.

The week's festivities will conclude Friday, Feb.1, with "Spirit" Day. The student body will participate in a series of team activities in the gym on the elementary school campus.
