Franciscan Academy students conduct own March for Life

Today's snowy weather did not stop the Franciscan Academy of Lourdes University middle school students' "March for Life," on the campus of Lourdes. University.

This coincided with the annual March for Life rally today in Washington, D.C., which marks the 40th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the landmark Supreme Court decision that led to legalized abortion nationwide.

The Franciscan Academy students in grades 5-8 along with their teachers, parents and the Sisters of St. Francis of Sylvania, created posters and signs in protest of abortion but also positive messages about life.

The group prayed decades of the Rosary while marching, which was led by Academy Director Dr. Rick Kohler.

The students are very aware of the importance of speaking out about liberty and protecting the civil rights of the most vulnerable lives, the unborn.

After the hour-long march, the students gathered in Queen of Peace Chapel on the campus of the Sisters of St. Francis of Sylvania for mass.
