Woman charged in robbery of Sylvania Twp. bank

A North Toledo woman was arraigned today on a charge of aggravated robbery for the holdup Tuesday night of a Sylvania Township bank.

Bond for Diona Ellis, 26, of 231 Amber Ct., was set at $100,000 today at Sylvania Municipal Court by Judge Scott Ramey. A pretrial hearing is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. July 16.

Ms. Ellis is accused of robbing the Woodforest Bank inside the Walmart on Central Avenue at about 6:45 p.m. Tuesday, police said. They did not say if a weapon was seen.

It was not clear if the suspect fled on foot or in a vehicle. Police arrested the suspect without incident later in the night at Dorr Street and Richards Road in South Toledo.
