Police investigate alleged assaults

Father suspects daughter, 4, had sexual contact in 2013

BLADE STAFF

Sylvania police are investigating three sexual assault incidents involving two girls.

On April 22, a father told police he suspected that his 4-year-old daughter had sexual contact from someone he knew on either Jan. 27 or 28, 2013, at the child’s home in the 4600 block of Holland-Sylvania Road.

Sylvania police Chief William Rhodus said the case was referred to Lucas County Children Services to assess the allegation.

City and Sylvania Township police, meanwhile, are investigating a 43-year-old woman’s April 23 report that her 16-year-old daughter was raped two years ago, possibly by another juvenile, in woods near Wickford Drive in the city.

Chief Rhodus said township police alerted his department about that alleged rape while investigating a different sexual assault involving the same girl that reportedly occurred in the township. That incident was reported on March 25.
