Sylvania area crime log, fire runs 8/20

BLADE STAFF

Here are the crime reports from Aug. 13 through Aug. 20 from Sylvania and Sylvania Township police departments. Also included are the fire runs from the Sylvania Township Fire Department.

Sylvania Police

Aug. 12

Theft. BP Barney’s Convenience Mart, 6127 Monroe St., reported someone stole assorted merchandise with a combined value of $70. The items taken included gum, Hot Pockets, and skull caps.

Aug. 13

Theft. Kroger, 7545 Sylvania Ave., reported someone took a 1.75 liter bottle of Ciroc Vodka, valued at $73.

Aug. 15

Theft. Jeffrey Sneider, 5300 block of Silvertown Drive, reported someone took his Ohio license plate from the bumper of his car. The item was valued at $25.

Aug. 16

Theft. Opal Hanion, 5400 block of Burgess Drive, reported a Rolex watch valued at $4,000, a diamond ring valued at $3,000, and a men’s diamond ring valued at $2,000 was taken from her home.

Sylvania Township Police

Aug. 12

Theft. Robert Chambers, 6700 block of 26th Avenue, Kanosha, Wisc., reported a Rand McNally GPS, valued at $375, was stolen from his semi-truck parked at the Speedway, 5904 W. Central Ave. He left his truck to provide change for an unidentified man, and when he returned the vehicle’s window was smashed and the item missing.

Aug. 13

Theft. Bree White, 3700 block of Holcomb Road, Bradner, Ohio, reported mail stolen at her residence located at 3200 block of Fairbanks Road.

Aug. 14

Theft. Mary Riddle, 6000 block of Acres Road, reported 58 pills of Hydrocodone missing from her truck. She said her vehicle, parked at her residence, was ransacked in the middle of the night.

Theft. AAA Northwest Ohio, 7150 W. Central Ave., reported a customer stopped payment on a check for $581, given for services rendered on a vehicle. The store contacted the customer who said they would pay, however the payment was not received.

Aug. 16

Theft. Kevin Campbell, 6000 block of Chaney Drive, reported stolen a Kindle, valued at $199, and a MP3 player, valued at $29.

Aug. 17

Theft. Garrett Dennis, 6100 block of Bapst Avenue, reported a push lawn mower and gas can stolen from the bed of his truck while it was parked at Walmart, 5821 W. Central Ave. The mower was valued at $75.

Aug. 18

Theft. John Childers, 5000 block of Rudgate Boulevard, reported two rear car seats, valued at $1,500, a Harley Davidson motor and transmission, valued at $8,000, stolen from his black 2008 Cadillac Escalade.

Theft. Meghan Lynn Davis, 6500 block of Cornwall Court, reported her wallet and identification card stolen from her purse. Ms. Davis was working at Subway, 5842 W. Central Ave. and placed the purse in the prep room. The value of the items was $10.

Aug. 19

Theft. Joe Skaff, 4400 block of Heatherdowns Boulevard, reported stolen from his vehicle $60 worth of compact discs, $60 in coins, a pair of Nike tennis shoes valued at $100, and a uniform worth $70. The car was parked at Burger Bar 419, 5215 Monroe St.

Sylvania Township Fire Department

Aug. 14

6200 block of Westacre Lane, unauthorized burning.

Aug. 15

7000 block of Sylvania Avenue, water problem.

Aug. 17

4400 block of Eaglehurst Road, electrical wiring or equipment.

Aug. 18

6200 block of Westacre Lane, unauthorized burning.

Aug. 19

4800 block of Parkgate Place, cooking fire.

2600 block of Moffat Drive, gas leak.

Aug. 20

5100 block of Monroe Street, dumpster or other trash fire.
