Participants sought for Sylvania Township citizens police academy


The Sylvania Township Police Department will offer a Citizens Police Academy every Tuesday starting April 2.

The academy, which ends May 21, runs 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Classes will be at the Police Department office, 4420 King Rd.

Topics include firearms, patrol operations, criminal investigations, laser and radar operations, special response team and communications.

To participate, people must live or work in Sylvania Township, be at least 21 years of age, complete a written application and pass a criminal history investigation.
