Sylvania area crime log, fire runs 10/30

Here are the crimes reported to Sylvania and Sylvania Township police departments in the past week. Sylvania Township Fire Department runs also are listed.

Sylvania Police

Oct. 23

Robbery. Kroger Timberstone, 7545 Sylvania Avenue, reported a suspect attempted to steal a gray hooded sweatshirt, three packs of Delsum cough medicine, and one can from a six-pack of Miller High Life beer from the store.

Theft. Christina Siddens, 6200 block of Luddington Drive, reported her purse was stolen and a Bank of America card and two Capital One visa credit cards were removed.

Oct. 27

Breaking and entering. City of Sylvania Parks & Forestry, 8425 Sylvania-Metamora Rd., reported that the building was broken into by force and damaged the property.

Breaking and entering. Sylvania Recreation Corp., 7060 Sylvania Ave., reported the building was broken into by force and damaged property totaled about $975.

Oct. 29

Theft. Stacy Speegle, 8000 block of Bittersweet Road, reported her debit card number was used to make unauthorized purchases.

Oct. 24

Burglary. Susan Tucker, 7900 block of West Central Avenue, reported she was admitted to the hospital on Oct. 22 and returned home on Oct. 24 to find several items of property missing from her residence.

Theft. Jamie Heltman, 2700 block of North Holland-Sylvania Road, reported a ladies gold ring, a two-piece wedding ring set, and two sets of 14-karat gold rings were stolen and pawned.

Oct. 25

Theft. Marco's Pizza, 6801 West Central Ave., reported several items were stolen from an employee's vehicle while he was at work at the business: a black leather tri-fold wallet, an Ohio driver's license, a Huntington Bank credit/debit card, $40 in cash, and a State Farm insurance card.

Robbery. Halloween Town, 5223 Monroe Street, reported that three female suspects stole seven children's costumes from the store, ran out to a car, and tried to run over an employee.

Oct. 26

Burglary. Toni Clark, 6100 block of Greenacre Road, reported a Sony PlayStation 3, two controllers, and 4 CDs were stolen from Ms. Clark's residence.

Oct. 27

Burglary. Neil Dodrill, 3200 block of Corey Road, reported a Smith & Wesson revolver was stolen from his house while he and his wife were gone.

Oct. 29

Burglary. Tien Le, 5800 block of Wyndstone Drive, reported an unknown suspect stole $2,000 in cash, a diamond ring, four Coach purses, a gold necklace, and a green card from Ms. Le's house.

Oct. 25

7400 block of Central Avenue, cooking fire.

7400 block of Central Avenue, dispatched and canceled en route.

5000 block of Monroe Street, alarm system activation.

7200 block of Sylvania Avenue, dispatched and canceled en route.

Oct. 26

5000 block of Monroe Street, alarm system activation.

Oct. 27

4200 block of Holland-Sylvania Road, assist invalid.

5500 block of Flanders Road, heat from short circuit.

Oct. 28

5100 block of Monroe Street, dispatched and canceled en route.

3600 block of McCord Road, no incident found on arrival.

2500 block of Winding Creek Place, assist invalid.
