Sylvania area crime log, fire runs 9/19

Here are the crimes reported to Sylvania and Sylvania Township police departments in the past week. Sylvania Township Fire Department runs also are listed.

Sylvania Police

Sept. 11

Theft. John Johnston, 4600 block of McCord Road, reported that a wedge golf club, a golf putter, an umbrella, and a set of Taylor Made golf balls were taken from the trunk of his vehicle while it was parked in his driveway.

Sept. 12

Taking identity of another. Ned Pakosz, 4300 block of Appomattox Drive, reported that his credit card information was used in a fraudulent Internet transaction.

Sept. 14

Assault. Theft. Daylene Scott, 6000 block of Graystone Road, reported that she was thrown to the ground by a suspect who threatened to punch her. Before leaving the scene, the suspect took her Samsung Galaxy cell phone.

Theft. Constantina Sklavos, 5000 block of Main Street, reported $30 in cash was stolen from her residence.

Sept. 15

Theft. Chad Shade, 5000 block of Arbor Way, reported that his vehicle was stolen while he was inside a building located in the 5600 block of Monroe Street.

Sept. 16

Theft. Jacqueline Dewberry, 800 block of Hoag Street, reported that cash was removed from her vehicle while it was parked in front of the residence.

Sylvania Township Police

Sept. 13

Theft. Meijer, 7240 W. Central Ave., a customer reported that she left her wallet and credit card at the checkout line. When she went back into the store, she saw an older man take the wallet and put it into a bag. He exited the store and left in an unknown vehicle. Store surveillance shows the suspect stealing the wallet.

Sept. 16

Theft, Pet Supplies Plus, 6923 W. Central Ave., employees reported that they observed a suspect pushing a cart with three bags of dog food out into the parking lot and loaded them into a waiting vehicle, without paying for them.

Sept. 16

Theft. Walmart, 5821 W. Central Ave., a person reported that he lost a cell phone while he was in the wine section, assisting his uncle, while his uncle had medical issues. An EMS arrived on the scene and surveillance later showed that an older male picked up the cell phone while the uncle received medical assistance.

Sept. 12

6100 block of Peppermill Drive, carbon monoxide incident.

5900 block of Brainard Drive, assist invalid.

2931 Glaston Oaks Court, cooking fire.

6600 block of Coppersmith Road, assist invalid.

Sept. 13

6900 block of Williamsburg Drive, carbon monoxide detector activation.

Sept. 14

9600 block of Sylvania-Metamora Road, alarm system sounded.

3500 block of Holland-Sylvania Road, passenger vehicle fire.

Sept. 15

3200 block of Millicent Avenue, dispatched and canceled en route.

6100 block of Bonsels Parkway, prescribed fire.

Sept. 16

4100 block of King Road, detector activation.

4200 block of Holland-Sylvania Road, assist invalid.

4600 block of Beaconsfield Court, dispatched and canceled en route.

5200 block of Monroe Street, alarm system activation.

Sept. 18

Acres Road and Sugar Hill Court, smoke scare/odor of smoke.

4100 block of King Road, alarm system sounded.
