Sylvania area crime log, fire runs 8/29

Here are the crimes reported to Sylvania and Sylvania Township police departments in the past week. Sylvania Township Fire Department runs also are listed.

Sylvania Police

Aug. 22

Petty theft. Receiving stolen property. Christopher Bennett, 5200 block of Harroun Road, reported several items were stolen from his car, while it was parked at the residence, including an Audiovox satellite radio unit and a Garmin GPS device.

Aug. 23

Burglary. Karen Lehmkuhl, 6000 block of Frejon Lane, reported that a blue and white mountain bike was stolen from her basement. The value of the bicycle is approximately $100.

Aug. 24

Petty theft. Disorderly conduct. Kroger Timberstone, 7545 Sylvania Ave., reported a 43 year old intoxicated man stole a monster ham and cheese sandwich from the store.

Sylvania Township Police

Aug. 21

Burglary. Edris Armin, 2700 block of Stoneleigh Drive, reported that someone broke out the rear glass door of the house and entered the residence. All of the rooms appeared to have been searched.

Aug. 24

Theft from vehicle. Michelle Dohm, 8800 block of Sylvania-Metamora Road, reported that several items were stolen from her vehicle while parked at Pacesetter Park. The items stolen include several store charge cards, cash, debit cards and a purse.

Burglary. William McElheney, 4900 block of Rolandale Drive, reported that an alarm was activated at his residence and that a door on the south side of the house was kicked in.

Aug. 24

5800 block of Central Avenue, assist police.

Aug. 25

4100 block of King Road, alarm system sounded.

5700 block of Whiteford Road, smoke detector activation.

Aug. 26

5700 block of Whiteford Road, system malfunction.

Aug. 27

8800 block of North Stone Mill, dispatched and canceled en route.

5000 block of Monroe Street, alarm system sounded.

5800 block of Artwell Drive, assist invalid.

5600 block of Monroe Street, passenger vehicle fire.
