Traffic restricted on Central Avenue due to gas leak

Two lanes of traffic are restricted due to a high-pressured gas leak in front of Central Collision, 7839 Central Ave.

Sylvania Township Police, as well as the Sylvania Fire Department, are working to resolve the leak.

A Sylvania Township police officer said they are unsure as to what caused the leak at this time. The incident was initially reported to officers about 1 p.m. as a vehicle accident, but it is unknown whether the gas pipe was damaged by a motor vehicle.

The officer stated he does not know how long the one lane of traffic might be restricted.
