Sylvania area crime log, fire runs 7/24

 Here are the crimes reported to Sylvania and Sylvania Township police departments in the past week. Sylvania Township Fire Department runs also are listed.

Sylvania Police

A clerk at the the City of Sylvania Police Department reported no crimes for the week of July 17-24.

Sylvania Township Police

July 17

Burglary. Judy Kelley, 6000 block of Black Oak Drive, reported that she left for work and returned home to find that her condo was broken into. She said a 46-inch, flat-screen television and a 32-inch Samsung television were stolen from her apartment.

July 18

Burglary. Ruth Peck, 5900 block of Chaney Drive, reported that she left her residence to go to dinner and when she returned, she found two bottles of wine on her back porch, as well as a wine glass on her windowsill. The bottles of wine were normally inside her residence. Two gold chains, one gold chain with a cross, one pearl necklace, and six sets of earrings were reported stolen from the residence.

Theft. Jordahn Gardner, 6400 block of Sylvania Avenue, reported an iPhone was stolen from a pile of gym clothes on a bench in the locker room area of the Sylvania JCC/YMCA.

Theft. Anthony Lofiego, 4700 block of Sutton Place, reported that several items were stolen from his vehicle parked at his residence. A Dell laptop, a black canvas bag, a portfolio, a plastic rolodex-type card holder, and miscellaneous receipts were among items reported missing.

Burglary. Sherry Specht, 5600 block of McClain, said she left her residence and found that her house had been broken into when she returned. She reported $550 in cash was stolen from a fire safe, which was busted open.

July 23

Theft. Michael Sczublewski, 4600 block of North-Holland Sylvania Road, reported that numerous tools were stolen from his garage.

Theft. TAS Electronics, 5400 block of Monroe Street, said a 7-inch, audio/video car stereo was stolen from a display shelf at the store. The suspect fled in a Dodge pick-up truck.

July 19

4900 block of Valencia Drive, dispatched and canceled.

July 20

3100 block of Central Park West Drive, alarm system sounded.

Central Avenue, gas leak.

3200 block of Centennial Road, gas leak.

July 22

3600 block of Whiteford Road and Rolandale, passenger-vehicle fire.

6000 block of Peppermill Drive, assist invalid.

July 23

5600 block of Monroe Street, EMS call.

4200 block of Isadore Lane, EMS call.

7000 block of Central Avenue, EMS call.

6600 block of Convent Boulevard, EMS call.

3100 block of Plainview Drive, EMS call.

5700 block of Summit Street, EMS call.

6200 block of Monroe Street, EMS call.

7700 block of Bancroft Street, EMS call.

5800 block of Durbin Road, EMS call.
