Boil water advisory in place for part of Sylvania Township

A boil water advisory has been issued in Sylvania Township along Holland-Sylvania Road between Central Avenue and Goodhue Drive because of a water main break.

The Lucas County Engineer's office issued the advisory.

The office has shut off water in that area until the water line is repaired. It estimates repairs will be completed by the end of the day. About 20 customers, mostly businesses, are impacted by the water shut off. Traffic has been diverted into the southbound lanes during the repair.

As a precautionary measure, officials advise customers in that area to boil water for consumption for at least one minute. The boil advisory remains in effect until Monday.
