Authorities defused a homemade bomb and removed a second one today on Dellbrook Drive in Sylvania.

The bombs did not go off and no one was injured in the incident, the Sylvania Police Department is reporting.

The city's police department, the Sylvania Township Fire Department and the Toledo Bomb Squad responded to the scene after a resident called authorities at about 9 a.m. after she noticed two, 2-liter pop bottles in her front yard.

One of the devices fizzled out and the bomb squad safely defused the other, authorities said.

It was not immediately clear what the contents of the bottles were.

An investigation is under way.
