Sylvania Township will begin its yearly spring brush pickup on April 15.
The township originally scheduled the pickup for April 8, but the administration considered that the recent cold weather may have prevented homeowners from heading outside to tidy up their yards.
The one-time only service for the season will include leaf and brush collection.
Gregory Huffman, public works manager, said that tree limbs and branches should be separated from the leaf piles to be picked up. Each pile for pick up should be placed on the curb or side of the road. He cautioned that the piles should not be placed in the street because they can become a traffic hazard. Plastic bags should not be used to contain the items.
The service crews will begin collection on that day, and will pass by homes just once. It is recommended that residents set out their collection items the weekend before Monday in order to ensure items are collected. Please note that township service crews are not equipped to pick up the debris unless the leaves are separated from the brush.
