Same contractor hired for this year's Sylvania area fireworks
S. Vitale Pyrotechnic Industries, of Newcastle, Penn., has been selected Sylvania City Council to perform the firework display this year at the Sylvania city and township's Independence Day celebratory event July 3 at Centennial Terrace.
The estimated cost of the show is $28,875. Coca-Cola is one sponsor, and council is seeking further support and contributions from area companies to cover at least 75 percent of the cost. Sylvania Recreation is also a yearly contributor.
The final cost of the event, after the total sponsorship's are taken into consideration, will be equally shared both Sylvania City and Sylvania Township.
It was not clear how much Coca-Cola has contributed this year.
The city has contracted with Pyrotechnic for the fireworks show in the past years. Last year's cost was estimated at $27,000, before contributions were obtained.
