'Going Green' kicks off Tuesday at Sylvania Senior Center

“Going Green" initiatives will be revealed at the Sylvania Senior Center from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday.

At the center at 7140 Sylvania Ave., there will be a Shades of Green Workshop, where participants can learn the basics of sustainability and easy ways to lead a more environmentally friendly lifestyle. There will be a presentation on what the center will do to go green, such as recycling, energy and water conservation, and exchanging Styrofoam products for eco-friendly cups and tableware. “Green” door prizes will be given out.

The center has partnered with the Lucas Soil and Water Conservation District and Keep Lucas County Beautiful in this project.
