Olander Park becomes a winter scene

Cold temperatures Sunday were reflected in the winter scenes at Olander Park in Sylvania. Mostly covered in ice and snow, the park's lake is largely frozen, but a red flag and sign warn visitors it is unsafe for ice activities.

Sunday's high was 22 degrees, with scattered snow showers. Monday's high should be 20 degrees with a light period of snow.

So far this winter, the area has seen less snow than normal and has been warmer than average, according to National Weather Service data. 

The average daily mean temperature at Toledo Express Airport last month was 28.0 degrees, 2.5 degrees above normal.
