'Walk to Defeat ALS' raises funds at Flower Hospital
The 9th annual Walk to Defeat ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease, brought participants to ProMedica Flower Hospital in Sylvania today.
Beginning with registration at 11:30 a.m., the walk began at 1 p.m. and provided a wheelchair accessible path for patrons to walk around outside the hospital facilities. For the two-mile walk, there was not a registration fee, but donations were welcomed.

In addition to the walk, several other activities, including clowns, face painting, food and entertainment, were available.
Donations received from walkers will help fund programs for the local ALS chapter. The donations will help with services, including consultations, home visits and equipment assistance.
