Rummage sale, fossil dig in store this weekend in Sylvania
The second week in September in Sylvania has plenty of opportunities for rummage sale shopping, entertainment, and family time.
Here's what's going on:
FRIDAY: The Sisters of St. Francis will hold the Sister Gretchen's Craft Supplies & Rummage Sale, from 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m. in the evergreen room at the Rosary Care Center, 6832 Convent Blvd. For more details, call 419-882-8373.
SATURDAY: The Sylvania Senior Center will host the annual "Senior Center Follies Show," which features singing, dancing, music, and comedy skits performed by patrons of the center. Tickets are available for Saturday night's performance, which begins at 7:30 p.m. at the center, located at 7140 Sylvania Ave. For more information, check out sylvaniaseniorcenter.org or call 419-885-3913.
Participants involved in Clean Your Streams, an event aimed at cleaning up trash along the river area, will meet at 8 a.m. at Olander Park's open air shelter house. As one of 10 kickoff locations in the metro-Toledo area, a mandatory orientation for the 16th annual event will take place at 8:30 a.m. Clean up at the sites will start at 9 a.m. Olander Park is located at 6930 Sylvania Ave. For more information and to sign up, visit partnersforcleanstreams.org.
SUNDAY: An entire day of fossil digging is in store for Sunday from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at Sylvania Historical Village, located at 5717 N. Main St. Called "Fossil Fest," the event will include piles of shale to sort through, which will be provided by Hansons Aggregate. Other family activities will be set up on the Historical Village grounds.
