The show, which began at 10 p.m. and lasted about 20 minutes, was put on by Zambelli Fireworks of Newcastle, Penn.

About 3,000 people watched the show from Centennial Terrace on Centennial Road, which had a party of sorts for Independence Day. Scores more watched the fireworks from Pacesetter Park, and thousands more view them from nearby homes, roadsides, and parking lots.

The fireworks were launched from Fossil Park, near Centennial Terrace.

The Centennial Terrace event began at 7 p.m. with local band Randy and the Reef Sharks playing oldie hits at the outdoor venue. It also had children's activities and plenty of finger foods for families, from burgers to pizza. Radio station 93.5 FM WRQN simulcasted the night happenings.
