Disco Night brings '70s back to Centennial Terrace

Centennial Terrace brought back the magic of the 1970s with its annual Disco Party.

More than 2,800 people on Friday attended the 19th annual summer Disco Party at the outdoor concert venue Centennial Terrace, at Centennial and Sylvania-Metamora roads and managed by Sylvania Recreation Corp. Given the them, dancers and some patrons dressed in traditional ‘‍70s-style clothing.

Bell bottom jeans, disco shirts, and hippie attire graced the venue.

Jim Lieber, from the Sounds of Music, was the DJ of the event, spinning classic 1970s’‍ hits from pop music to funk.

The dance party has become a community event, said spokesman Ray O’Lenic, who is with the Sylvania Recreation Corp.

The event‘s tickets sold out in about four hours; the VP section in about 15 minutes, he said.
