The 3rd Annual Maple and Main Street Air Fair is set for May 31 and June 1 in downtown Sylvania.
More than 100 artists are to participate in the fair, for which Main Street is shut down for the exhibits between Monroe and Erie streets. The Sylvania Community Arts Commission and Sylvania Area Chamber of Commerce put the event together.
The art will range from paintings, jewelry, and photographs to pottery and more.
The event will have local musicians performing on two open-air stages, including Jack and the Bear and the Aaron Stark Band. There will be a children's art tent and games area, groups performingin in the barn at Sylvania Historical Village, and eight local vendors selling food. Also, there will be beer and wine sales.
The fair runs from 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Saturday, May 31, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 1.
On Friday, May 30, the Sylvania chamber will hold a gala honoring Sister Jane Mary Sorosiak of the Sisters of St. Francis of Sylvania. The 6 p.m. event is in the train barn at the historical village. Tickets are $40 and can be purchased through the Chamber.
