From the iconic Mustang to antique motorcycles, those who attended the first Cruise In at Sunset in Sylvania Township viewed an array of makes and models of prized motorized vehicles.
Sunset Village, a retirement community off of Sylvania-Metamora Road, hosted its first car show on its sprawling campus on Saturday. The event included food and music, and on the spot antique appraisals. It was a family effort, an idea which employees came up with, and their families chipped in to coordinate it.
I Dorothy Mockensturm, director of development and communication at Sunset, said, "We have that beautiful land here and this something that we all wanted to do in bits and pieces."
Matt Moenter, the Sunset information systems director, suggested an all-around car show because he and his family attend them frequently.
Proceeds collected from the participation fees and a 50/50 raffle will benefit the Residents' Assistance Fund of the non-profit based long term care center.
