Hundreds of future brides from the region descended on Sylvania for the biannual U&I Bridal Northwest Ohio Bridal Event held at the Franciscan Center today.

“Girls that get engaged on Valentine’s Day are now planning their weddings for summer, spring and fall of next year,” said Paige LaCourse, co-owner of the Sylvania-based U&I Bridal Productions.

She and her partner Lesia McHugh organized the show, held from noon to 4 p.m. at the Franciscan Center of Lourdes University. The show had more than 50 vendors and wedding-focused service companies from northwest Ohio. They also host a bridal show in October.

The ladies attending received special treatment and advice on how to put together their wedding look from head to toe. Brides-to-be, their families, and friends were shown to a preview of the latest wedding dress fashions and the trends in the mother of the bride, flower girl, and bridesmaid dresses, shoes, hair styles, and accessories. Fiancés also were able to see the latest tuxedo wear in a fashion show.

Cakes, wedding photography packages, and honeymoon vacations were given away as part of free prize drawings sponsored by the production company and individual vendors.
