Walking, planets highlight weekend events
Just a few events are happening this weekend in the Sylvania area.
Here's what's going on:
FRIDAY
The Olander Park System will offer a program called "TGIF," for families, starting at 6:30 p.m. Families are encouraged to meet in the Gorman Nature Education Center at Olander at 6:30 p.m. The program includes making trail mix and walking. The park is located at 6930 Sylvania Ave. and more information can be found by visiting olanderpark.com. The cost is free.
SATURDAY
Lourdes University's Appold Planetarium will present a show called "BIG!" The show takes viewers on a "quirky and imaginative look at the size and scale of our universe," according to university. The show includes 3D graphics and clay-animated characters. The cost is $4 for children and Lourdes students and $5 for adults. The show will start at 7:30 p.m. Reservations are recommended, and can be made by calling the planetarium, at 419-517-8897, or emailing planetarium@lourdes.edu.
Sylvania's Sodbuster Bar, located at 5758 N. Main St., will host the musical acts of Candice Coleman and Chris Brown. For more information and times, call 419 517-1045.
