The holiday shopping season is now in full swing in downtown Sylvania.
Mayor Craig Stough turned on the lights downtown, participating in the community tree lighting which took place during the Downtown Delights shopping event today.
Stores were open later than usual and served special holiday treats, in addition to offering merchandise sales and raffles.
A wine drawing and a silent auction for decorated wine glasses was also held. Wine tasting, a new event this year, was offered to give residents the opportunity to learn how to choose wine for Thanksgiving and holiday celebrations.
Downtown Delights is offered twice per year and is an event that is planned by the Sylvania Area Chamber of Commerce.
