Caberet-style show, movie, skating highlight weekend activities
The first weekend in November will be a quiet one in Sylvania, with only a few events happening.
Here's some of what is going on:
FRIDAY
Lourdes University will host former American Idol contestant Candice Coleman, along with Chris Brown, in a brand new cabaret-style show. Broadway tunes, pop tunes and special favorites will be included in the mix. The show starts at 8 p.m. and tickets are $10 in advance, or $12 at the door. Tickets are available by calling the Franciscan Center Box office at 419-824-3999. The Franciscan Center is at 6832 Convent Blvd., Sylvania. For more details, visit www.lourdes.edu.
The Friends of the Lathrop House will present a movie at the Valentine Theatre, 410 Adams St., in downtown Toledo, starting at 7:30 p.m. Proceeds will benefit the Lathrop House Restoration and the Valentine Theatre. The event is called "An Affair to Remember," and admission is $10. For more information, or to purchase tickets, contact the box office at 19-242-2787.
