Downtown Sylvania festival to welcome Farr golfers

SYLVANIA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

“Taking it to the Streets – Downtown Sylvania”, a family friendly street festival will be held on Main Street in Sylvania on August 9th welcoming the Jamie Farr golfers and their family and friends. The event is sponsored by Mercy St. Anne Hospital. The streets will be closed in from Erie Street to Monroe St. and businesses will be open and with activities for young and old.

The event will be held during the Farr Classic Week. This event will feature musical entertainment from local bands at several entertainment venues and children’s activities. A car show will be featured and a people choice and best of show trophy will be awarded.

Downtown Sylvania restaurants Jenna’s, Chandler Café, J & G Pizza, Treo, will be open as well as street vendors. Miller Beer will provide the refreshments.

Several downtown businesses plan to stay open and reconnect the retail community to local residents and this opportunity will highlight the community and encourage shopping locally. The street festival is sponsored by Mercy, Dave White Chevrolet, 5/3 Bank, The Toledo Blade, Kingston - Sylvania and support from The City of Sylvania, Miller Lite and 93.5 WRQN.
