Deadline Feb. 15 to apply for Sylvania Chamber scholarships

SYLVANIA AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

The deadline for Sylvania area students to apply for the annual scholarship program by the Sylvania Area Chamber of Commerce is Feb. 15.

Two $2,000 scholarships will be awarded to seniors who are residents within the Sylvania School District.

Last year, almost 60 entrants received the scholarship. Applicants are judged on leadership, school experience and an essay on “what being a Sylvania student has meant to you.”

To be eligible. students must live within the school district and be a graduating senior who plans to attend a college or university.

Applications can be obtained at the high school guidance offices or by calling the chamber at 419-882-2135 or visiting the chamber’s Web site at http://www.sylvaniachamber.org . Applications can be submitted by email to lglover@sylvaniachamber.org. Mailed applications must be postmarked by Feb. 15 and sent to:

The scholarships will be announced at a May 1 chamber luncheon.
