Lourdes to host theater workshop

2-week summer event created for children


The Sylvania Community Arts Commission Theatre Department is holding a summer theater workshop for children.

Singers, dancers, and budding actors between the ages of 10 to 18 are invited to participate in the two-week theater workshop. The program is instructed by Irina Zaurov. The workshop will be held from 9 a.m. to noon July 29 through Aug. 9, Monday through Friday, Lourdes University Franciscan Theatre, 6832 Convent Blvd.

The workshop costs $200 for non-Sylvania residents, $180 Sylvania Township residents, and $150 for a Sylvania City resident.

Held for eight years, this year’s summer workshop involves performing the musical King Midas and the Golden Touch.

Auditions will be held for students new to the theater program. There are only 25 slots open. To register call 419-517-0118 or visit the Web site at Registration deadline is Friday.
